Test, Report & Maintain Heidelberg Materials Australia is a leading supplier of high-quality concrete and quarry materials across Australia. Our on-site and centralized laboratories are essential to ensuring that our materials meet Australian Standards and client expectations. We are now seeking an experienced Technical Operations Supervisor to lead our laboratory operations, based out of our laboratory in the eastern suburb of Clarinda . This is a pivotal role that ensures the consistency, reliability, and compliance of our concrete and quarry products through rigorous testing and quality control. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations of the concrete and quarry materials laboratory Supervise and mentor lab technicians and quality control staff Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS 1012, AS 1141) and internal QA/QC protocols Coordinate sampling, testing, and reporting for aggregates, concrete, and other raw materials Conduct investigations into non-conforming products and provide technical support to operational teams Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure test accuracy Analyse and report on test results, identifying trends and recommending improvements Liaise with operations, technical, and sales teams to support product development and customer requirements Maintain accurate records for audits, NATA compliance (if applicable), and internal reporting About You Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a laboratory environment within the concrete or quarrying industry Strong understanding of aggregate and concrete testing procedures and standards Prior experience supervising or leading a small technical or laboratory team High attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and documentation Competence in using laboratory systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) Certificate IV or higher in Laboratory Techniques, Construction Materials Testing, or a related field (preferred) Knowledge of NATA accreditation processes (desirable) What We Offer Competitive salary super benefits Stable, long-term role with a respected industry leader Ongoing professional development and technical training Supportive workplace culture focused on safety, quality, and collaboration Opportunities to contribute to innovation in materials and testing processes Heidelberg Materials Australia is an equal opportunity employer, and we employ people from all walks of life.
